Chicken head found among Asda ribs and wings By Laura Clout Last Updated: 3:25PM BST 02/07/2008 A father preparing a birthday barbecue for his young daughter was horrified to discover a chicken's head inside a bag of Asda frozen ribs and chicken wings. Peter Stanton was about to grill the defrosted meat for nine-year-old Georgia and her friends when he found the unwelcome extra in the packet.
"The kids were horrified", said the 39-year-old salesman, who said the bird's beak and eye were still visible.
Mr Stanton, from Bacup, Lancashire, promptly returned the goods to his local Asda.

The managers of the branch, in Rawtenstall, gave him £50 worth of beer and wine in compensation.
An Asda spokesman said: "We're absolutely appalled that this could have happened. We have the strictest controls in place to ensure all our products are manufactured to the highest possible standards.
"We're determined to get to the bottom of this and the supplier is investigating how it could have got in there.
"It goes without saying that we sincerely apologise to Mr Stanton and his family."
It seems to me that they are starting at the wrong end

LOL. Yes, the wrong end. But then, what's the big deal? You saw a head and you were horrified that your chicken was not all clean and cut in equally sized pieces, to let you forget that what you are eating is actually something that was once alive, had feelings like you and me, but lived all his/her life in a tiny little cage, was fed very unhealthy rubbish, and was killed horrendously? Yes, chicken have heads.
