Zidane was right to smash that Italian fagg0t who was talking sh1t about his mother (who is terminally ill) and sister ("your sister is a whore") and his Muslim roots ("terrorist"). Materazzi also said something like, "You're an ungrateful dog raised by / trained under Italian masters" referring to the time Zidane spent playing at Juventus.
With only 5 minutes more to go till the penalty shoot-out and neither side going anywhere, Zidane has crafted the ultimate masterstroke of his genius. Some quick thinking on his part yielded that the event of his sending-off will be of no great loss to his team.
So he smashed the bastard with his head for all the insults. During his time in Italy, Zidane has probably gotten used to all these insults that players use to rile the opponent up. But in the final glorious moments of his career, he must have thought, "fcuk it, I'm retired after this anyway, I don't have to take any more of this sh1t".
Now looking back, even if Zidane was available to take a penalty kick in the shootout, Trezeguet would also have taken it (as he is a striker) and would have missed all the same.
Rather than be remembered as some mere hall of famer, Zidane has immortalized himself into legend by smashing that fcuking Italian bastard scumbag.
Long after this World Cup, Zidane will be forever remembered as a legend. Materazzi will always be remembered as the no-talent, sh1t-talking, fcuking bastard scumbag who got Zidane sent off.
Long live the wizard.

Say, how did you know the exact words Matezarri used to antagonize Zidane? Everyone guessed it was some provocative insults, no doubt, but for you to actually lay claim you know it all is reprehensible.
All the media reports attested that Zidane, being a professional, should NOT have put his team and his country's name to shame by reacting like that. He could have given Materazzi a head butt or punched him AFTER the match. This shows Zidane has a lack of self-control in the midst of a very important match and no matter how 'great' he is, he revealed to 30 million television viewers and some 70,000 spectators that he is a hoodlum after all.
The paparazzi will have a field day probing to Zidane's explosive temper and make their own investigation as to how many OTHER incidents Zidane have shown his ugly side.
Look, everyone of us have a temper and how we react, depends on how unjustified the insults or accusations are thrown at us. Most of us know will probably show our anger by retorting back some equally nasty words. Most of us use our heads first - to think of clever words to shut the other party's mouth or to defend our stand but NOT to use our head to butt the aggravator. The very most, most sportsmen, or any man, will issue a ' Watch out! I'll settle this with you later' if they are in a midst of a competitive game. Most guys will NOT make a scene when there are lots of people watching.
No matter how insulting the words are and no matter how angry Zidane was, surely he knew he cannot be the first to raise his hand, or rather in this case, his head? He exhibited his weakness, that is, his lack of control over his temper and that weakness is unforgivable to the public's eyes. People have high expectations and by that single act, he obliterated all that would have made him a great player in the history of football.
Maredona was another so-called football great. He smeared his reputation by using drugs. Pele, on the other hand, never did anything to soil his reputation and till to date, he is still a very much respected man.
I suppose those who practice 'an eye for an eye' will wholeheartedly support Zidane. Fortunately, these people are just a minority.
Zidane will lose his fame. He will be notoriously known for his head butt, that's all.

soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=373706&cc=5739Materazzi, 32, told Gazetta dello Sport: 'I held his shirt for a few seconds only, then he turned to me and talked to me, jeering. 'He looked at me with a huge arrogance and said, `If you really want my shirt I'll give it to you afterwards'. I replied with an insult, that's true.' Materazzi has not elaborated on what he did say, but one report suggested he responded with: `I'd rather take the shirt off your wife'. ouch.

BBC Radio Five Live asked for help from a deaf lip reader, Jessica Rees, who read the words phonetically to an Italian translator.
She deciphered the insult as being "you're the son of a terrorist whore" - a translation also carried by many national newspapers in Britain on Tuesday.
The BBC's Ten O'Clock News also called in experts to study the television footage of the incident and determined the following:
Materazzi's first word to Zidane was "no" before he then told him to "calm down".
He then accused him of being a "liar" and wished "an ugly death to you and your family" on the day the Frenchman's mother had been taken to hospital ill. This was followed by "Go f*** yourself". Ouch indeed!

Sorry, instead of 'sleeper' he said 'w-h-o-r-e' (the fault of this instant translation).

Ma no. Materazzi asked Zizou if he wanted to join him at Inter. Actually another version is that Materazzi told him: "Didn't Moggi tell you to miss the penalty"?

Don Corleone: somehow, telling someone "you're the son of a terrorist who.re" is not very nice, is it? Specially if the guy is the son of Algerian immigrants who has been insulted all his childhood because of his parents' origins. Wouldn't you agree with me?
Of course, nobody knows for sure that that jerk of Materazzi did say that.

Do you know this for sure? Materazzi did not say that. Besides Zidane is a crazy bastard, part of team of LOOSERS who have the guts to call themselves a French team when in fact 90% of them are immigrants who cannot even sing la marseillaise. We are the world Champions, 4 stars on our shirts.

Does it matter what was said ? Anyone that has played any competitive team sport knows that sledging is part of the game. Try to get under your opponents skin and get him riled up is something that happens everywhere. It's just part of the game.
So, no matter what was said, I'm sure ZZ had heard a lot worse throughout his career. His explosion in the final was inexcusable and he must shoulder all blame. Being told your mother is a w-hore on a football bitch is pretty amatuerish trash talk really. I'd be dissapointed if the Italian didn't say something more creative.

For the head butt, Zidane is a real super cool bada55!!!! This is the greatest player on earth! I suspect many of you talking sh1t about Zidane are not real football fans. I have followed Zidane's career throughout and have seen his skill and technique time and time again, but this tops the cake. It showed that none of that superstardom and fame mattered to him one bit. He is still the original street fighting man from the humble neighbourhood - Zidane. For that, millions over the world feel closer to him now than before.
Zidane is right to go out with a bang rather than with a whimper.
Anyway I respect Maradona more than Pele. Maradona, being a bad boy, has lots more personality and passion than Pele, who is a FIFA mouthpiece and an eunuch of a man who had his head turned by fame.

Zinedine Zidane will appear on French television at 1900 BST on Wednesday to reveal what Materazzi told him. Let's wait and see...
My question right now is: why do women say that Zidane is handsome, but they don't say that I am handsome? I swear I look better than he does!

So Zidane didn't say exactly what Materazzi said. Not suprising really, since that would have been the favourit insult of all the Zidane haters in the world. I still admire him for what he did! Having the guts to stand up for himself and risk being sent off 10 minutes before the end of the final ... WELL DONE ZIDANE! MAY YOU BE AN EXAMPLE FOR THE REST OF US!!!

Zidane is a criminal who ought to be sent to jail. With his header he could have killed Materazzi. Insulted my women is the explanation of that pig. In a football pitch there are countelss of insults. No one never , excpet maybe Rooney, has ever reacted in such a way. It shows that Zidane in spite of all his fame and "elegance" is really deep inside a thug. And that's how million of people will remember him. A thug who played with a team of arrogant idiots representing a country of bitter sore loosers! Now zz face the music. You lost we won. Les Italiens ils assurent!!!!

Hey Italian patriot: I piss on you.
Don't you know, the entire football world hates Italians. Nobody except third world Africans wants to play in Italy. And even the Africans are starting to move to Spain and England.
Your league sucks, your football sucks, and your culture sucks! Your society is a culture of cheating and lies and dishonesty all the way from the Vatican to the corporate world to the Serie A.
Oh you won the World Cup? Really? How come all the media are ignoring your win, preferring to focus on Zidane and how "the better team lost in the final". Obviously nobody else except you Italians thinks that your national team played good football.
I agree with the majority of people: France were the better team, they played better football, but lost to an inferior Italian team on penalties. Well, isn't that how Italians play football? They don't care about the footballl, to an Italian winning the match is everything.
I piss on you and your country, bastardo italiano.
