Rob Hughes has written articles that are biased, untrue and frankly speaking insulting to Italy and Italians. I am amazed the ST allowed them to be published. This is not the end of the story. Rob Hughes has obviously a huge problem with Italians and he is a disgrace to fair and unbiased journalism. Typical anglo saxon who think he can pontificate on other peoples issues. I suggest Mr. Hughes to go and check his own backyard rather than writing such stupid comments.
Shame on you Mr. Hughes!

Look at it this way guys. Rob Hughes obviously lost a lot of money betting on other teams and he's just sore Italy has been proving him wrong. Readers will skip his section once they find his comments and predictions are all ramblings. There are many other reporters other than him who are much more worthy of our reading time than Rubbish Rob.  |

happy to read some people agreeing with this.
I understand there have been lots of complaints with the ST been flooded with letters and even from high up.
So let's see if that idiot will have the balls to reply or at least the decency to apologise.

Rob Hughes is a fan of English and German clubs and teams ie:- really physical teams without much technique.
As far as I can remember, Hughes has always been biased against Latin teams and players - South American, Italian, Portuguese, and Spain, because he has this racist belief that all Latins are divers.

Well, well, well........looks like Rob Hughes has FINALLY changed his tune about Italy. He wrote a complimentary report on the Italian team in yesterday's ST.
Could it be the Italian community in Singapore made their unhappiness known to the editor of ST? THAT is sooooo coooool!

But why do all the sports reporters feel the need to badmouth Italy?
Did anyone notice that the won the championship? Yet, most of the stories I read around the world were badmouthing Italy as if they didn't deserve the win and justifying the actions of Zidane. How screwed is that?
Yes, Z lost his cool. Too bad for him and for the French team! Of course he was provoked! That's what the defenders are out there to do. The front guys are out there to make goals even if it takes well versed choreography inside the box, the defenders are there to stop them from doing that. So the Italian defenders provoked the s**t out of that guy and out he went. Guaranteed not to score after that. Well done Italy! Is it supposed to be some kind of an excuse that he was provoked? He's paid an idiotic money to not be provoked and keep scoring. Sorry, no sympathy for that guy. He fu**ed up big time in a moment that was supposed to be the top moment of a glorious career.
