The match-up tonight between Australia and Croatia is intriguing. There are, I think, three Aussies who are playing for Croatia. Meanwhile, Viduka himself (of Croation descent) had once played in Croatia. Bresciano is part Croation. Josip Skoko, I believe, is married to someone whose family member is in the Croatian squad.
The mutlticultural-multinational angle of this match is brilliant.
May the best team win.

i believe many (as many as 8 or 9) of the Aussie players are first or second generation Australians of Croatian parentage... ie:- their parents probably speak Croatian at home.

And Italians, Spanish, Samoan, German, English... what else would you like "huh"? If you couldn't read between the lines, then do us a favour and work on your teenage sarcasm somewhere else.
Onto the game: it was brilliant. Anything the Socceroos do from hereon in will be cream. They have achieved much more than anyone expected for a footballing nation that's been lost for the past 32 years. The team's now got a groove and some respect on the world stage.
Just wish the FFA could have found a way to keep Guus Hiddink.
