ga! we lost 2-0.
ok so as long as do not lose against croatia in a few days, we're through to the second round and create yet another piece of history.
we've got a great mathematical chance over the other two bar brazil and if japan could do it, so can we.
it'd be nice to see how the turncoats in the croatian roster Joseph Didulica, Josip Simunic and Anthony Seric react to this match. oooh, i'm sure they'd get stick if they were to contribute to a win.

Not a bad effort at all by the Socceroos. OK, so we lost by 2 goals. At least we didn't disintegrate into playing village green football. The team still looked professional and disciplined. I think the match was played to a high level and only a top team like Brazil could exploit 1/2 chances to score goals. That they did and that's why they are the champs.
We weren't embarrassed at all.
Bring on Croatia!

I agree. I was hoping to see Brazil smash Australia to pieces, but Australia was really quite good. Brazil doesn't seem to be a world winner. Argentina was much better! Well done for the Australians!

You guys ARE dumb. Argentina will not win the World cup, as their form peaked too early. This form can't possibly last them through to the finals, their form will drop next week and will coincide with a loss against a lesser but more in-form team.
Likewise, Spain will choke up too as their form will likely dip. No way they can keep playing like this for 4 weeks.
It is the "slow and steady" teams like Germany, England and Brazil whose performances weren't spectacular but have managed to grind out wins, and whose forms are on the ascendant and hopefully will peak sometime during the final 2 stages of the tournament.
Remember the world cup isn't won on the back of one or two group-stage matches. It is won by the team with the most staying power, and who can make their in-form last the longest.

You forgot Italy. The team has not found it's perfect balance. Now we will put on the turbo. It 's win or go home. And that's when Italy plays at it's best. Delighted to see Australian in the finals though. Well done to the socceroos . Should be an interesting game.
