Can anyone explain to these 11 MORONS that this is not american football? 23 fouls! 2 red cards. And the coach still complains! It was a massacre, they were tackling hard as if the purpose of the game was to floor your opponent. Impossible to play a good flowing game. MA VA FAN CULO!!! Having said that Italy played bad too, but then again Italy is always like that. We play well one day, bad the other. As for De Rossi, he should be expelled form the world cup for this vicious attack. A game to forget.

I didn't see the match but read that it was bad. Will have to watch the highlights... or lowlights it would seem.

ninja, the americans imposed their game on us, no doubts about it. Italy did not play well, it was actually quiet embarassing. But one has to be fair too. The type of football played by the americans was hard and some tackles were , least to say, quite criminal. The two red cards were fully deserved. Tehre were about 23 fouls, I don't know how many free kicks and yellows. It wasn't a game of football, it was american football, rugby, aussie rules...bad bad bad! The american did not score, it was an autogoal. I think the referee was excellent. A game to forget quickly

As I read it, there were 3 red cards with the 3rd being a rather vicious elbow that required 3 stitches to close the wound over the US player eye. Additionally, didn't the Yanks play with only 9 men for the majority of the second half? Would make it rather hard to play a graceful game that short handed wouldn't it? Maybe they didn't score but they did keep the Italians from scoring with only 9 men.

i think that was the whole "game plan" by the US from the beginning. to disrupt the flow.
it'd be great to see the socceroos against the yanks in this world cup with none actually playing soccer. we'd need a WWE referee instead of a soccer one.
ah ha, ha, haaaa...
have to give credit where credit is due. the US played with 400% more heart than in their meek opening match a few days ago.
everyone was so focused you could see the veins throbbing on their foreheads. eeeks, scary.
ahem.
