I would go to a bank, not to someone who has a yahoo account. Insuranx, you should buy yourself a real internet address. Unless, of course, you do work for a real company...

Methinks dude/dudette
I assure I have a 'real' company email address and work for a genuine financial advisory firm.
As I have said before, was just testing the 'waters' here and the products (from the world's top 100 public companies ) I offer are not available from any of the banks here (mainly targeting expat staff).
Skepticism was expected but my conscience is clear !
Don't trust the banks too much as years back local banks were lambasted for bleeding little old ladies' money by aggressive bank staff who hounded them into buying 'structured' products when in the bank queue !
Oooooooo... so tempted to put in a little smiley

Why don't you describe the products you offer, and then we can discuss if they are actually unique or also offered by the competition?

Sorry for saying this, insuranx. Insurance, be they personal, accident, health, etc. are very complex issues that are meant to be tailored to individuals' needs. Yeah, you may be promoting your services but it would be much better if you advertised yourself using your real name and give users here a brief but true account of your working experience and professional background.
I agree that putting smilies give the impression you regard your job and/or insurance as cheerful, light-hearted matters. Indeed, insurance is a serious issue everyone should consider as it is no laughing matter to discover one has a serious illness that requires operation and extensive hospital stay without any coverage.
Bad approach, insuranx. Most of the expats/locals here will not want their insurance agent to be grinning all the time. The thought of making huge commissions out of policies you supposedly think you can sell here probably makes you smile, but hey, do not be too obvious will you?

Whoa, thanks for the feedback guys ! Thing is that I am not too sure if legally I can advertise my services.
Beside the products targeted at the local mass market, my company is also the distributor of ZIL's life insurance product, 'Vista' - designed for the expatriate investment and savings market .
Its a savings/investment/insurance plan where the policyholder can opt for the currency denomination of their choice (for hedging) and even zero insurance coverage.
As a Isle of Man tax-exempt insurance company, ZIL is not liable to pay capital gains tax or income tax on investments held on behalf of its investors. This means that your savings are not taxed at source and therefore can grow almost tax-free !
In my daily activities, I hardly come across 'expats', so was wondering how I could get into this market segment ! Well, the smileys were included deliberately to get responses so in a way it has worked.
I assure you I have Associate Financial Planner certification and will reply in my offical email address if anyone tries to contact me for a FOC and obligation-free presentation.
And as the local insurance industry is highly regulated -all charges are transparent (unlike in the property mkt ) - fears of being overcharged are unfounded !
Cheers everyone, have a good weekend !
