If anybody else (apart from the naughty little minx [hallo naughty ]) has a personal web site they want to post, perhaps I can add a section at the bottom of the main page with the list of all the personal web pages.

Mr. Sex toy collector kindly set up an account (or provided the link to a company) where anybody can upload a photo (of course for free) to later post the link on this site. Please click here to upload images. To be uploaded, the images have to be reduced to 1024x768 pixels or smaller. After uploading, a link appears that can simply be pasted here. You have to copy the second link (where it says Thumbnail for forums (1)) in its entirety. Then what you get is: When you click on the tumbnail the whole image appears.

BM,
When I tried to modify my profile, an error occured.
It stated that I wasn't allowed to use "he" in my display name.
It's all very strange since I am already registred as The The, and have posted under that name. I would like to keep it.
Is there some way around this?

Mr. thethe, so what would you like your display name (you mean your registered name?) to be.

Hi,
I'll take it from the top.
What happens is:
I go in to modify my profile and add an avatar URL, when I click save/update the program returns to the top where an error message has appeared. It says: You can't use He in your display name.
The strange thing is that I haven't done any change to my display name, it's exactly the same as always.
What I want is to be able to modify my profile, and keep my display name... Cause as it is now, all changes in my profile are blocked by the error message.
I hope you have some kind of solution, thanks in advance.

Hi thethe. Send me the link of your avatar (with a private message if you want). I will try to post it for you, and see what the problem might be.

Did you delete the negative thread about the Hollandse Club (Dutch Club)?

BM Did you delete the negative thread about the Hollandse Club (Dutch Club)? No, there wasn't any negative thread about the Hollandse Club on this board. It was on the angry board, and the evil BM deleted it. Someone started a thread here, and I asked people not to repeat the negative allegations about the HC. That's all. I didn't delete anything.

I am sorry about this new security code you have to type before posting if you are not registered. It's really annoying, isn't it? I tried to remove it, but I couldn't. It was imposed on the board by the people at proboards105. I guess there has been a lot of spamming on other boards.
Please register, and you won't have to worry about it any longer.
Sorry.

Why don't people post more? Don't you like this site? Please post more, or I am going to be relatively sad!

Advice to BM:
I believe the Angry Board does lots of PR with journalists from The Sunday Times, because excerpts from the AB will regularly show up in the "tech and web" section of the Sunday Times, with website links to the AB. Not in yesterday's Sunday Times though, but in the previous couple of weeks'. That is A LOT of publicity, man.
Perhaps you should try rubbing shoulders with the newspapers too?
Play the same game, man.

Why don't people post more? Don't you like this site? Please post more, or I am going to be relatively sad! Why ? Because you made one fatal mistake: When everybody (ok..many) started to migrate over here and came with suggestions for new forums, you initially added new forums but then removed them again. Still beats me why, it definitely did not bring more people over here. That pissed of people (me) who were active here and to be honest, this made this site very boring. The very reason why I de-registred. This is like opening a new restaurant with a nice menu and 3 weeks later cancel 30% of the items because not everybody orders all the items. That surely sends a lot of customers away. Variety makes a place interesting, even if not all items are very much selling

Hi resm.
Long time no see. I have been away for a few days, hence my late reply.
It's impossible to please everybody, since people have different perspectives. Take censorship. The views go from those who think that I should censore all those who criticise the OP, to those who think that I shouldn't censore anything. I take a middle ground and only censore those who call others names without bringing anything to the discussion. I guess this middle ground is going to displease everybody, and cause some people (specially those who can't deal with freedom of speech) to have migrated back to the angry board. On the other hand, hopefully some people will remain here, and this censoreship policy won't deter useful information from being shared, while not lowering to level of this board to a silly name-calling exercise.
As for the number of forums, again it is not possible to please everybody. There was little traffic (there still is...) and I thought that having a lot of forums gives the impression that there are even fewer posters. Some people suggested that I should remover more forums than I actually did, and you suggested not to remove any forum. I chose a middle ground again, and only removed the ones that had very few posters (you were the only one who posted in the photography forum) and had a fairly obvious substitute (the photography posts are now in the free time forum. Most people photograph during their free time...). It was your idea to add all these forums, and I don't think that many people shared your point of view. As it's not possible to please everybody, there are always going to be the unhappy. If and when traffic does increase I will add more forums, but for the time being, isn't it simpler this way?
To compare it with your analogy of the menu in the restaurant, I think that a menu with 20 dishes organised in 10 different categories would not look as appealing as the same 20 dishes organised in 5 different categories. You can still post exactly the same threads, you just have to post them in different forums.
What does everybody else think?
P.S. I hope you will come back to this forum. Your messages were fun and useful.

Agree with BM.
Reasons for less traffic - people are busy, they may be reading but not posting. I know I don't have enough time to post!

Thanks for the suggestion. I wonder if the difficult address of this site is really a problem. Don't people use bookmarks, and doesn't the URL get completed automatically when one starts writing it? Perhaps it would be best if there were some information at www.alternativeexpatboard.com, for people to go there and browse, similar to the homepage of expatsingapore.com, though I never actually checked out exactly what information they have (I think only newcomers go there). My suggestion would be: why don't the users of this site (including yourself) write a short essay on various topics and send them to me? I can then set up a site and upload your short essays. Is anybody interested? Chears.
