What's an acceptable amount to give as a birthday present to our helper. She's been with us for 6 months and is doing a good job.

This would be a good topic to kick off the Maids forum, wouldn't it? (BM, you may appoint me consultant housekeeper. )

This would be a good topic to kick off the Maids forum, wouldn't it? I was thinking about that too. There are 3 threads here on maids. Why didn't the authors put them in the maid forum? Shall I move them there? I don't want to start moving threads, like is done in the other board. I find it very annoying to have to search all forums for a thread. But maybe it would simplify things? What do people here think? Shall I just leave everything where it was initially posted, or shall I move threads to the 'right' forum? Sorry, I don't want to hire a consultant housekeeper yet, but maybe I will one day.

I think put in a note in the same thread for author to repost the question in the maids forum and a day later transfer the post in the appropriate forum.

Yes you could move them. There's no point in having a maids board if they don't go there. People will stop looking at the relevant boards if everything goes in the Living in Singapore bit. The other BM on the other board just puts "please move this to the *** board".
I don't think Carly will be offended. What you could do is move them and then PM the person who posted (if they are registered) and tell them that you've moved it so they know where it is.

You mean there's actually a board for maids?
Hey, we are Singapore - no racial divisiveness and segregation allowed!

BM,
Just move to the proper board and leave a shadow message here informing that the thread has been moved and then lock the shadow message to prevent continued dialog there. After a week, do some housekeeping and delete any shadow messages still remaining.

No way! When I moved the thread I had the option of leaving a message in the old place saying that the thread had moved here. I would have done it even if sms hadn't suggested it. Serious! ;D
