I'm looking for places I can rent for a month or two for not too expensive - I return to Singapore every summer, around mid-June to mid-Sept, so I'm not looking for conventionally-rented apartments, just something for 2 months or so a year. I'm also on a tight budget, so no high-end Ascot/hotel types please. Thanks in advance folks.

Thanks much calamity. I prefer without roommate -- craig's list turned out to be a good place to look but people don't post much. Thanks anyway.

We are willing to pay a high rent, just don't want to commit to a 2 year lease with no drop out option. Lots of cash but don't want to give it to the landlord should we decide to move out.
Most serviced apartments are too small and come fully furnished. We have a ton of furniture, maids, etc... We need at least four bedrooms (preferably five!), and either a large garden or some considerable outdoor space (such as a very large roof top area and balconies elsewhere too). Willing to sign a two year lease BUT with an option to break lease with a few months notice for whatever reason.
Anyone done this here?

You could try the Leoni Condotel. I think they do short terms.

seeking roof, most 2 year contracts come with a diplomatic clause that you can use after 1 year. You can also sign a 1 year lease.
