The signs were in English, staff (sorry I mean Cast members) all spoke English. All rides instructions were in English and Cantonese, the parade was in both. Only thing that was mostly Cantonese was the 'Golden Mickeys' award show performance but there was a big screen with English translations - and all the songs were in English of course. Our 4 year old had a ball - but be aware that all the rides are of the Tea Cup, Flying Dumbo variety - only one roller coaster- Space Mountain. Most of the cafes/restaurants catered for Asian tastes - there is one burger place over in Tomorrowland if that is an issue. It was well run and extremely clean and tidy (well except for the pushing to get a good seat at the shows!!!!) There were plenty of minders around the characters to ensure there was no queue jumping for the photographs as well. We enjoyed it and the youngster has been asking to go back again.

Thks just back. jamesmum we too are planning to go there in early june.Planning to stay at Disney hotel to avail of the complimentary second day free pass offer. I read somewhere that half the day is spent waiting 1 -2 hrs for some of the more popular rides, even on non peak days!!.Is this true. Heard that May June will be hot & sticky.Lack of shaded places adds to the problem. Also heard that you are not supposed to get any food/drink of your own, though the security do allow it.?!! Can we get our own food, since the toddler needs special diet.
The place was all over the news in Feb Mar when Mainlanders actually climbed over the fences when they were refused entry to the park. It was just too crowded back then. I hope this things do not occur during our stay.

Hi Non Local, We're thinking of the second week in June where it's meant to be low peak.As for food,I've heard the same thing. We'll probabaly spent most of the morning there and then back to the hotel for my tot's nap and then back out in the later part of the afternoon.I heard that it's gets really crowded around lunch time?Could you explain the complimentary 2nd day pass?is that from staying at the Disney Hotel?I think you can get a Fast pass to most rides so that you won't need to be in a queue at all?!Hope someone has a answer to that... Ta!

Hi again We stayed at the Disney Hotel - staff there were great and they had literallly just started the promotion of buy one day get 2nd free. (we arrived fri night and they told us to hang off and buy the tix on Saturday when it started, which was pretty decent of them as we didn't even know about it). They have a bus to the park and you can actually walk it in about 10 mins. We thought that the hotel was incredibly expensive but it is a special trip! One tip - bottled water is half the price at the park!! If you get a Garden room you can watch the fireworks (8pm) out the window and there is a tv channel which plays the music - so it is like being there without the crowd (and the noise). We did this because our son was shattered by mid afternoon. They have a lovely shallow pool with a slide which we used on the Sunday afternoon - a lovely way to cool off before the flight home. The dinner at Enchanted Garden restaurant is great for the kids - Mickey, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto turn up for dinner and breakfast. They go around the tables and so every kid gets their special time. It is buffet and there are healty and not so healthy choices for the kids (our son had french fries covered in chocolate) Go at the earliest time (6 I think) as it gets busier later on. Again this is expensive (I think $200 US for the 3 of us) but a special time that will last in the memory bank!! You can go and have breakfast in the park which gets you in at 9 am but the ride areas are roped off till 10 am so there is no real advantage, except not joining a long queue to get in. I would say get there for 10. They have loads of gates and are efficient. They do check your bag but we brought our own drinks which was fine. I am sure the special food would be acceptable- they are probably looking for people who bring half of a supermarket with them... We were there 9-5 on Saturday and 10 - 4 on sunday. Rides lines were nowhere near as bad as expected. I think the longest we waited was 10 mins. You can get 'fast passes' for some of the most popular rides which give you a one hour window to come back in, and you enter through a special door to cut the queue. We did that for the Pooh Bear honey pots (Lame according to 4 yr old - and parents) and the Astro Blaster ride (Buzz Lightyear) which we did 5 times!!! Whew - think that is all questions covered. Let me know if you need any more info though as I know I quizzed a few people before going. Always nice to know a little of what to expect.

jamesmum , it costs around 60 SGD for a normal day ticket while on asturday and sunday it may cost around 80 SGD . Why would you need a 3 day pass when you can enjoy the park for 2 days at the cost of 1 day ticket. (Provided you stay at their hotel. This is their 2nd day complimentary pass promo)

Forgot to add. The park is quite small. It can be done in less than a day. 2 days itself is an overkill.

I would have to disagree there - 1 day is exhausting if you want to go on most of the rides and see the shows, see the parade, and stop for lunch and drinks etc. We managed to see a lot in the first day with our 4 year old but that was without going to see Adventureland until the 2nd day. A friend did it in one day with her 4 year old and said that she would rather have done 2 days, and been able to pace herself. A young toddler would probably crash and burn.

just back , how much does it cost for the ride from Airport to the resort .We dont want to be charged a premium based on appearance . Usually whats the check-in check-out time. We would be reaching there at 11:00 .Planning to spend the whole day lazing around the hotel. The next 2 days will be at the park. The flight back home would be around 8:00. Is it possible to check out later say at 4-5pm instead of the usual 12 in 12 out . This will enable us to enjoy the park the second day until 4 and then check out of the hotel just in time to catch the flight home. Thanks just back for the info

Thanks Non Local & just back for your replies. The reason I'd asked if there was a 3 day pass was that we wanted to take our time going through the park. Two days would probably be enough but with a two and half year old toddler it's a bit hard to predict:)Also, how big are the hotel rooms?Would we need to book a jr suite or a standard enough for the 3 of us?Thanks once again! The both of you have been very helpful!

Isn't this great - no deletions! Anyway... Was about $120 HKD from airport - you go out from the airport into a colour coded taxi - think it was blue.. There are signs and approx fares posted. takes maybe 15 mins. Can't remember check in/out but think it was standard times. They will hold your baggage for you. We checked out the Sunday am, stored our bags and kept one backpack for the park. We left swimming gear out in another back pack and they were quite ok with us coming back to swim even though we had checked out. They have lockers at the pool for your gear if you do decide to go back to swim. Sounds like we did same flight back to Singapore and we left at 6 to catch flight. Be aware they may have to call taxi and it may take 10-15 mins to arrive. Hotel room is fine - we had a room with 2 double beds - a King and a cot will be fine in standard room - if that is what you need. Big plasma screen tv with Playhouse Disney, Disney Channel and about 3 other kids channels plus news etc.. Nice bathrooms - shower over bath, and you get the bog standard white slippers, but with Mickey logo on them to keep. They had 2 adult and 1 childs slippers and bathrobes, so kudos to the staff for organisation. Staff also have a stash of Disney stickers to give away so we came back with about 20 strips! Have a blast - we did!

my children are older - 7 and 9 - do you think the park is a bit too babyish for kids of that age?

A friend took her nearly 7 year old daughter who did really enjoy it - I am not sure about 9 year old though sorry. In saying that there were loads of bigger kids running around enjoying themselves, looked to me older than that - even early teens.
