thanks I was looking for this picture. Talk about the italians beign gays.... Anyway to answer the two batty boys above. The band behind the Italian team is of the regiment of Besaglieri. This regiment is actually fighting for freedom in Iraq unlike you two freaks. As for Italian team being gay, just look at Beckam the man that loves to bend over....

So can we continue with the education of the dumb Soccer Dad?
I watched about 3/4 of the England-Paraguay match as well as the Netherland-Serb match.
Both scores ended 1-0 and this is where us dumb Americans get confused. The scores were similar, but is it accurate to say that the Netherlands played a more dominant game in their victory than England did in their's?
What my undeducated eye saw was both Netherlands and England controlling the ball relative to their opponents, but Netherlands generating more serious scoring opps, even though the only one converted was that shot early on by Robbens.
That said, the free kick by Beckham seemed a thing of beauty to me and I don't think the inadvertant header by the Paraguay captain played a role in the ball getting by the goalie, as the announcers suggested. From what I could see, the goalie would have had even less of a chance if the ball hadn't been tipped.
Is what Beckham did rare? I have no clue how often someone scores off a free kick from 35 yards out. But he really looped that ball in there, giving it a wicked arc and all sorts of crazy spin. I can see how people forgive Beckham for his dumb haircuts and tabloid social gaffes.
I can barely make it through the games that start at 9 p.m. I don't know how I'll do with the 3 a.m. starts...
